Justin Timberlake Becomes Foreign Policy Expert
I normally try to not quote the Backstreet Boys whilst making a political point, but I can’t help it this time.

So what bit of news deserves this response? Here it is:

A federal judge on Thursday struck down President Bush's warrantless surveillance program, saying it violated the rights to free speech and privacy, as well as the separation of powers enshrined in the Constitution.

I don’t think I really need to argue against the government using warrantless wiretaps. It isn’t even debatable in my opinion. At the same time, I don’t think the president deserves impeachment for it. We’ve seen much worse.

P.S. I know JT wasn't a Backstreet Boy.

Actually, and this is not an attack on you, but John Dean, former advisor or something to Nixon, said that what Bush is doing is worse than what Nixon did. John Dean is a traditional Conservative. He just wrote a book called "Conservatives without Conscience"... He's a good man.

I don't know who John Dean is, but I'm pretty sure of two things:

1. He has a conflict of interest

2. He is probably right

I say he is right because I don't think Nixon did all that much. I guess it depends on who you ask or what you read, but I think Nixon was deamonized for the same reason Clinton was deamonized. It was the cover-up. It should be a lesson for every American president. Just come clean, and the people will love you for it.

I didn't know who John Dean was until his book came out. I saw him promoting the book and explaining everything on MSNBC. Nixon was pretty crooked, but I only know what I've read. Clinton was demonized, that's for sure. No doubt about that one. Also, you mention that if people come clean... Senator Russ Feingold said that all Bush has to do is come out and admit what he did was wrong and apologize and it will be put to rest there. Until Bush does so, the Democrats and the A.C.L.U. are going to keep pursuing this until it results in an impeachment. I think if the Dems take the House this November, he will be impeached. He'll be impeached, but he won't be found guilty unless the Senate agrees to it. And being that the Senate is controlled by Republicans, and probably will be in November, they more than likely will not find him guilty. The polls show the Democrats taking back the House but not the Senate.

actually, i have heard of his last book "worse than watergate". i didnt read it though.

as for the republicans losing the house. i almost want it to happen. it will teach them a good lesson.

Oh, I haven't heard of that book. The last book I knew he had out was "Conservatives without Conscience"... I'll have to read that new one.

"worse than watergate" was '04. "conservatives without conscience" is the new one you are thinking of.

Oh, well I haven't heard "Worse than Watergate" either way...

On a sidenote, I checked out the links you have about Waco, but that isn't Clintons faults. It was bad, but the ATF did what they did within the law. As horrible as it sounds, they did. Not that he had any power during this, but you do realize who the Governor was at the time, right?

Oh, btw, I didn't mean Bush... Bush wasn't governor until '95...

Even if the federal agents did not commit criminal acts at Waco, they made lots of mistakes. If the same situation happened today with left-wing extremists...i can't even imagine. You should watch the documentry Waco: the rules of engagement. i won't say it is 100% accurate, but even it is good enough.

I don't think it was Clinton's fault, but I think the president should have his hands on a situation like that. I think he was pre-occupied with something important though, but i can't remember what. it has been a while since i read about it.

They did make mistakes, no doubt. I did further research, and according to Wikipedia some believe the police violated their constitutional rights, some don't. I don't know much about it. Also, don't forget that Clinton was just elected president. He hadn't been there that long. Also, the police lied their ass off, so I've heard. If they were lying to the media, they were no doubt lying to Clinton and Reno. That's an issue I am not going to debate because I don't know much about it. I do know that there was a huge controvesery surrounding it.

Also, the camps for the Japenese was ridiculous. I remember reading a book a girl wrote who was in those camps. I can't think of the name of it though. When I think of it I'll let you know.

What the hell did Justin have to do with this blog?

I believe he did that as a joke... "Cry me a river"... Like big deal, etc...

Media, do you use AIM or Yahoo messenger?
